Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineer is to create, document, develop, and implement procedures and processes required to manufacture machined metal parts in conformance with customer and regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include interpretation of customer purchase orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Additional responsibility will include the programming of a 3,4, and 5 Axis Machining Center (s) and high speed, 5-axis, Horizontal Machining Center. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, improve and document, the CNC machining/ manufacturing processes.
- Set up processes and activities to provide the least disruption to machine up time while still providing quality product.
- Analyze process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Design and develop processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with high quality output and low product cost.
- Determine material removal rates, surface speed and feed rates.
- Estimate production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.

This position will be a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and related groups of functions including floor follow-up, set-up reduction, Kaizen events, and supplier interface. Work continuous improvement projects that support the Six-Sigma methodology.
Essential to this Role is the Ability to:
• Develop and prepare complete manufacturing processes for product hardware
• Determine all tooling, gauging, and equipment requirements
• Design and implement cutting tools, fixtures, and gages for manufacturing and assembly operations
• Provide support to floor issues with respect to all manufacturing and assembly areas
• Work continuous improvement projects, set-up reduction, TPM, 5S that support the Six-Sigma methodology

• Generate part programs for 2/4 and 5 axis N/C lathes and machining centers. Selects all tooling required, provide set-up procedures and technical support
• Maintain existing and create new CMM programs

• Sound manufacturing background (Processing, Programming, Fixturing and Tooling)
• Excellent working knowledge of SPC and Lean Manufacturing Methodologies
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or another related Engineering field from an accredited University.
• 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment. 3D Cad/Cam expertise. SolidWorks or Pro/E Wildfire preferred.
