Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago technical employment agency that specializes in the recruitment and placement of engineering, technology, manufacturing and supply chain professionals. One of our cutting edge, consumer electronics clients is seeking several electronic repair technicians who have experience with component level repair.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform a complete functional pre-test.
· Trouble shoot electronics down to the component level without schematics.
· Replace plastics according to customer requirements.
· Make minor repairs in which soldering is not required.
· Log problem found, repair action, and parts.
· Maintain minimum production quota set by management per shift.
Qualifications:
· 12 months to 3 years OEM related experience and/or training in electronic repair.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Must have basic computer literacy and good assembly skills. Duties include testing and identifying faulty sub assemblies in consumer electronics. Successful candidate will be able to dis-assemble and replace faulty sub-assemblies (e.g. hard drive, LCD, PCBA etc).
· Must have minimum 2 years component level troubleshooting. Must possess a good working knowledge of electronic theory and the ability to troubleshoot without schematics. Consumer electronics or computer board troubleshooting a plus.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
