Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago recruiting agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, operations and process recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Machine Design Engineer for an automotive parts manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for jig, fixture and tooling design.
* Performs engineering calculations, purchased part selection and prepares specifications.
* Adheres to good mechanical engineering and design practices and assures conformance to applicable industrial standards and codes.
* Oversees the generation of new or revised designs and approves the release of all required bills of materials and drawings.
Required Skills:
* Bachelors degree in engineering: BSME or BSMET preferred
* 10 years minimum engineering related experience
* 5 years minimum machine design experience (well versed in 3D CAD design software)
* 5 years minimum major manufacturing process development experience
* 5 years minimum project leadership experience and or supervision of subordinate employees
Preferred Skills:
* 10 years technically related experience in machine design
* 5 years automotive related engineering experience
* Proven ability with quality control systems, i.e. process capability and control verification methods, i.e.
FMEA methods
* Proven ability with manufacturing cost and profit analysis and projections
