Chicago financial recruiters seek a Director of Finance for a Fortune 200 Co.

Kappa Search, Inc. is a technical recruiting firm with offices in Chicago and Houston focusing on placement of accounting/finance, engineering, supply chain, operations and sales professionals.   We are currently working with a Fortune 200 manufacturer of E/M products currently hiring a Director of Finance. This is a permanent position offering a comprehensive compensation and benefits package along with an excellent opportunity to contribute and grow with a very well-established company.

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight of the finance/accounting activities of the business unit comprised of two manufacturing sites.
  • Will be responsible development and implementation of accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and the preparation of financial statements
  • Interface with senior management by participating in strategic and operational planning, responding to operational and process inquiries and collaborating on proactive financial analysis, special projects, and capital investment proposals
  • Drive idea generation and process improvements in areas of Purchasing, Inventory control and Sales cycle/AR
  • Manage monthly and quarterly operational forecasting process and the annual budgeting process
  • Manage internal and statutory audits as well as SOX compliance procedures
  • Develop and implement a Risk Mitigation Plan (including Trade Compliance, Business Interruption Planning, and Financial Compliance) to ensure all current and future business risks are identified and mitigated
  • Recruit financial and accounting talent, assess performance, devise development plans and motivate the team to build a strong and effective financial management team

Requirements:

 The Director of Finance will be a well-rounded financially strategic professional with 10 years working experience and engaged in leadership roles for the last 3-5 years, independently handling overall finance responsibility of a large manufacturing/industrial company to ensure accuracy and predictability of results.

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
  • CPA and/or MBA (Finance) required
  • Strong accounting expertise under the US GAAP requirements
  • Knowledge of various reporting systems – Oracle and Hyperion
  • Experience creating reports and presentations for senior leadership is essential
  • Minimum of 3-5 years managing direct reports
