Chicago Manufacturing Recruitment Agency Seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will manage Maintenance Department activity to ensure that objectives as they pertain to safety, quality and efficiency are achieved. This plant is manufacturing disposable consumer goods and has 200+ employees who work on a 24/7 schedule. This position will be a Monday-Friday role, but should be open to being contacted on nights and weekends if questions or necessary directions in the maintenance department are needed.


  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive PM program to improve overall plant efficiency and reliability
  2. Oversee the maintenance department to ensure the tooling, equipment, building and grounds are properly maintained
  3. Recommend new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment that are identified as cost reduction opportunities
  4. Ensures safe working environment and procedures are in place and followed
  5. Utilize management philosophies of AIB, SQF and ISO in all aspects of job related activity
  6. Responsible for investigating and resolving any food packaging safety problems identified and reported by other employees and also responsible for notifying plant management of the same
  7. Manage and oversee plant generated capital projects. Work with corporate Engineering on plant capacity expansion projects
  8. Oversee the Direct Reports: Maintenance Supervisor, Project Engineer, Storeroom Clerk and Maintenance Department(~20 hourly employees)

Job Requirements:

  • Supervisory/Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Engineering project management experience
  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree(experience can substitute for BS)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and TPM preferred
