Technical sales recruiting firm seeks a Sales Engineer with metallurgy expertise

Kappa Search is a recruiting firm that specializes in engineering, manufacturing and technical sales recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Sales Engineer for a top client. Preference will be given to candidates out of the tool steel, metal cutting tools or machine tool consumables industry. 

Responsibilities:

  • Will have overall responsibility for metal tool sales in a specific territory
    • Analyzes technology, market, and competitive trends;
    • Develops budgets and provides long-term strategic sales and market forecasts
    • Manages commercial requirements for sales programs, from prototype to production
    • Determine product needs, promotes products and increases business for key accounts
    • Manages and reviews RFQ, pricing, and marketing
    • Develops quotes and negotiates sales contracts and vendor/supplier agreements
    • Procures outside components and services; manages supply chain partners throughout product lifecycle
    • Designs, implements, and manages product launches
    • Coordinates with NPD and engineering about technical requirements and issues
    • Serves as liaison between customers and vendors/suppliers/factories throughout product lifecycle for issues related to pricing, quality, design, costs, and delivery
    • Provides overall support to multiple internal and external cross-functional groups
      • Networks within industry, customer base, suppliers, and partner companies
      • Analyzes sales forecasts and overall market trends
      • Approves sales and order forms
      • Reports on customer contacts, market trends, and new business opportunities

 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy is desired
  • Several years experience with territory sales in tool steel, metal cutting tools or consumable machine tool industry
  • Working knowledge of profit margins, currency/exchange rates, depreciation and cash flow.
