Procter & Gamble to establish new distribution center in Union, Ohio

Proctor & Gamble is establishing a new distribution center in Ohio.

Procter & Gamble Co. purchased a new distribution center in Union, Ohio, according to the non-profit JobsOhio.

The new multi-category facility will serve the company's Midwest customers. The project is part of a modification of P&G's supply chain in North America. The new distribution center will increase the efficiency of supply chain by putting products closer to major transportation networks and retail stores, JobsOhio reported.

JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition, Montgomery County and the City of Union all worked together to bring P&G to the area. The group ensured the company would have the infrastructure it needed to establish a 1 million-square-foot facility in Union, Ohio.

The $89 million investment will develop an innovative distribution center, which will be operation in 2015, as well as create 800 new jobs, JobsOhio reported.

"JobsOhio's strong relationship with P&G and the company's confidence in doing business in our state is great news for the region and the hundreds of Ohioans who will benefit from the jobs this project will create.," Gov. John Kasich said.

Businesses that are expanding and establishing new facilities should partner with operational recruiters to find the most qualified candidates for their open positions.
