Systems in Motion growing in Indiana

Systems in Motion LLC is expanding its operations.

Tech firm Systems in Motion LLC announced in June it is investing $5.4 million to expand its Indiana operations, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The investment will go toward  Systems in Motion's facilities in Kokoma, and Carmel, Indiana. The company will renovate older buildings, lease additional space and purchase new equipment. The expansion of the Carmel facility will be finished by December 2016.

Systems in Motion is relying on Indiana to provide high-quality technical workers because the area is key to its domestic outsourcing goals, according to Systems in Motion Executive Vice President Stephanie Moore.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Systems in motion a $5.65 million conditional tax credit and up to $100,000 in grants for worker training, the Indianapolis Star reported. The tax credits will be based on business performance and job creation standards. The city of Kokomo is also offering the company financial incentives.

The expansions will require up to 400 new workers by 2017.

Businesses expanding in the Midwest should work with technical recruiters to find the most qualified candidates to fill their IT positions.
