Louisiana manufacturing facility to welcome expansion in 2014

A Louisiana manufacturing plant will be adding 160 new jobs in 2014.

The Hayes Companies will be investing $3 million in to its Louisiana-based manufacturing facility. The expansion will create more than 160 new jobs for the city of Pineville.

The project will be a 60,000-square-foot expansion of the manufacturing facility that is currently located in Rapides Parish. The new project will make room for a metal fabrication site for Hayes Manufacturing, a division of The Hayes Companies.

In a joint statement released on Dec. 18, Gov. Bobby Jindal said the collaboration with The Hayes Companies will benefit the city and the state as a whole[left off the link. amend].

"The Hayes Companies has a long history in Louisiana, and we're proud that the company officials decided to re-invest in our state," Jindal said. "This Hayes Manufacturing project is just one example on a long list of projects that have come to fruition as a result of our world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce and competitive business climate."

The Hayes Companies CEO James Hayes, Jr. said in a statement Louisiana is a growing state and deciding to invest in the area is a good idea.

"Louisiana has a very good workforce along with a state government that is very business friendly, and Central Louisiana is growing by leaps and bounds," Hayes said.

The statement said the state will be awarding a $500,000 loan to the company if it meets certain performance parameters.

Construction for the new manufacturing plant will begin in December with a targeted finish date sometime in fourth quarter 2014, the statement said. Hiring has already begun and will conclude by the end of 2015, which is good news for manufacturing recruiters.

Along with a manufacturing division, The Hayes Companies also has two other division which are the Hayes Crane Services and Hayes Industrial Services.
